Genius Pharrell scores first Oscar nomination. Pharrell's song 'Happy', from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, is up for Best Original Song. Some of the Other nominees include U2's "Ordinary Love" from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O’s “The Moon Song” from HER, and “Let It Go” from the animated film Frozen. Yes, the competition is very stiff but if Pharrell wins he will be third rapper behind Eminem (“Lose Yourself”) and Three 6 Mafia (“It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp”) to win an Academy Award.
